Last Wednesday Daphne and I sent Isaac off to scout camp early in the morning and the two of us headed up north to Bear Lake. The morning started off a little rough. Daphne had some teeth coming in and she woke up with a little fever, nothing a little medicine couldn't cure. We left for Bear Lake and not even 20 minutes in she threw up in her car seat. This is where my super mom powers came into effect. Now I usually handle the whole throw up scene very poorly, dry heaving and all the dramatics that go along with it. But my super mom powers kicked in and I was able to pull over calmly and clean her and the car seat up excellently; by the time I was all done with it Daphne and the car seat were looking as good as new! We made it to Bear Lake without any more instances but she was still feeling a little feverish. Luckily it all only lasted that day and by Thursday morning she was back to her normal self.
We spent our days lounging at the beach, eating Ritz crackers, fresh fruit and delicious shrimp salad made by my Grandma Gayle. We got to spend time with my friend Joss and her little boy Charlie. Charlie and Daphne totally hit it off. Daphne even got in the lake for a little bit with me to cool off. We watched countless episodes of Winnie the Pooh and had many early morning swing set sessions. We missed Isaac but enjoyed our mom and daughter bonding time.
Summers are meant for spending at the beach and we are looking forward to many more beach days up at Bear Lake!
